The term racism is often used synonymously with individual bias, prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination. However, this approach to thinking about racism can minimize the particular role race, as a historical and cultural construct, has played in organizing which persons and identities recurrently comprise marginalized outgroups. In this talk, Dr. Phia Salter<\/a> (PSY) will discuss different approaches to racism in psychology and the implications of focusing on biases among individuals versus racism embedded in systems.<\/p>\n
