Dr. Kevin Gannon<\/a> (Queens) shares strategies for creating classroom environments in which discussions of topics that are controversial and emotionally laden can be held effectively and inclusively as possible.<\/p>\n Kevin Gannon is Director of the Center for the Advancement of Faculty Excellence and Professor of History at Queens University of Charlotte, in North Carolina.\u00a0 He is the author of Radical Hope: A Teaching Manifesto<\/em>\u00a0(West Virginia University Press, 2020), and his writing has also appeared in The\u00a0Chronicle of Higher Education<\/em>,\u00a0Vox<\/em>,\u00a0CNN<\/em>, and\u00a0The Washington Post<\/em>.
